Omnichannel in the Construction Industry
Omnichannel is an integrated format that connects the industry, retail, physical and digital stores to improve the user experience by providing higher quality throughout the purchase cycle.

Omnichannel is an integrated format that connects the industry, retail, physical and digital stores to improve the user experience by providing higher quality throughout the purchase cycle.

A study conducted by the SEO agency Hedgehog Digital, in partnership with Opinion Box, shows that 82% of Brazilians used Google to search for content and information, and 70% to look for consumer products.

Integrated environments are increasingly being used, allowing customers to enjoy experiences across all service and sales channels.

By using digital channels, customers can view photos and product information, make purchases at any time or day, check offers, payment methods, and delivery options, and even buy online and pick up their order in a physical store.

The consumer is at the center of the omnichannel approach, ensuring a smooth and convenient shopping journey, understanding their preferences, and focusing on efficient service throughout the purchase and after-sales process.

The pandemic accelerated the adoption of technology across various sectors, transforming and improving sales strategies. The construction sector was no exception. Traditionally a conservative industry with a strong focus on physical store sales, it had to adapt to this new reality. The growth of online shopping and emerging technologies has driven the industry to embrace these changes, benefiting all stakeholders, including customers, manufacturers, and retailers.

A future-thinking study conducted by CBIC (Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry) in partnership with SENAI (National Industrial Learning Service) in 2018 highlighted the need to incorporate new processes, materials, and technologies to drive transformation and innovation in construction, a concept known as Construction 5.0. The study projected the following advancements:

  • Macro-integrators – Home Store: Offering modular and industrialized construction. The home store would feature ready-made models and custom-designed projects, covering everything from design to final delivery.
  • Biometric Construction Systems: More functional, sustainable, and flexible construction processes with low maintenance and reduced waste.
  • "Zero Waste" – "Zero Maintenance": Waste-free and maintenance-free constructions.
